Mechanical seal is one of the most effective ways to rotate the mechanical body seal, the processing accuracy of itself is relatively high, especially the dynamic and static ring, if the disassembly method is not appropriate or used improperly, the assembled mechanical seal not only can not achieve the purpose of sealing, but also will damage the assembled sealing elements.
1. Notes required during disassembly
1)When removing the mechanical seal, strictly use hand hammer and flat shovel to avoid damage to the sealing element.
2)If there is mechanical sealing at both ends of the pump, care must be taken during the disassembly process to prevent the loss of the other.
3) For the working mechanical seal, if the sealing surface moves when the pressure lid is loose, the static ring parts should be replaced, and should not be used again. Because after loosening, the original running track of the friction pair will change, and the sealing of the contact surface is easy to be destroyed.
4) If the sealing element is bonded by dirt or condensate, the condensation should be removed before the mechanical sealing is removed.
2. Notes are required during the installation
1) Before installation, carefully check whether the number of assembled sealing parts is sufficient, and whether each component is damaged, especially whether there are bumps, cracks and deformation of dynamic and static rings. If there is a problem, repair or replace the new spare parts.
2) Check whether the chamfer of the shaft sleeve or pressure cover is appropriate, if it does not meet the requirements, it must be repaired.
3) Mechanical sealing of all components and their related assembly contact surfaces must be cleaned with acetone or anhydrous alcohol before installation. It should be kept clean during installation, especially the moving and static rings and auxiliary sealing elements should be free of impurities and dust. Apply a clean layer of oil or turbine oil.
4) The upper compression cover should be corrected after the coupling. The bolts shall be evenly tightened up to prevent the deviation of the gland. Check each point with the plug gauge or special tools, and the error is not greater than 0.05 mm.
5) Check the coordination clearance (and concentricity) of the glandand the outer diameter of the shaft or shaft sleeve, must ensure the uniform around, and check the tolerance of each point with a plug gauge is not more than 0.10 mm.
6) Spring compression should be carried out according to the provisions, do not allow to have too large or too small phenomenon, the required error ± 2.00 mm, over the general increase the section pressure, accelerate the section wear. Too small will cause insufficient specific pressure and can not play a sealing role, the spring installed in the spring seat to move flexible. When using a single spring, we should pay attention to the rotation direction of the spring, and the spring rotation direction should be opposite to the rotation direction of the axis.
7) The moving ring shall remain flexible after installation, and push the moving ring to the springshould be able to bounce back.
8) Put the static ring sealing ring on the back of the static ring, and then put into the sealing end cover. Pay attention to protect the end surface of the static ring, ensure the verticality of the end surface of the static ring and the center line of the end cover, and align the anti-rotation slot on the back of the static ring at the anti-pin, but do not contact each other.
9) During the installation process, it is never allowed to knock the sealing element directly with tools. When it is necessary to knock, special tools must be used to knock to prevent the damage of the sealing element.
